XRT Anomaly state: 2014 June 4th — 2014 June 10th

XRT was in an anomaly state from 00:23 UT on 2014 June 4 to 17:58 UT on 2014 June 10. Windowed Timing mode data collected during this interval are indistinguishable from data taken in normal operations, and are safe to use. Photon Counting mode data were not collected in the normal manner during this interval: there was no on-board bias subtraction, and the on-board low-energy threshold was raised to 0.5 keV; the calibration for those data is unverified. Therefore PC mode data collected during the anomaly interval should not be used for spectroscopy or photometry, however positions derived from these data are not expected to be degraded compared to normal operations. We note that for some obsIDs no scientific data were collected, as a consequence of the recovery operations. Information regarding the anomaly has been announced in GCN Circ. 16349, GCN Circ. 16356 and GCN Circ. 16378.
