Glossary: Minimum sigma

The minimum significance (C/√B) for a detection (C=counts in the source region, B=background counts expected in the source region). A bin with a significance below this will be plotted as an upper limit, if upper limits are enabled. The confidence level of the upper limit is set to the specific minimum σ i.e. if this field is set to 3, then all bins which do not contain a 3-σ detection will instead be given as 3-σ upper limits.
